28lb to 80lb injectors, ok to run untuned?!!

Ok so I’m getting closer to wrapping up my lsa blower swap on the 5.3. I left my cam alone and swapped out the stocker 28lb ls1 Injectors for some Deka 80lbs. Now I have absolutely no intention of driving the car with the bigger injectors before it’s tuned, but will I be Ok idling it for a bit to check for vacuum leaks and driving it on and off the trailer?? I would like to have the new plugs in and ready to go, but I don’t want them to get fouled in the few minutes I have the car running.

I also considered picking up a cheap set of eBay 28lb truck injectors to run instead, then I can possibly limp it to the tuner and swap to the 80’s in the lot. Let me know what you guys think, thanks.

I would definitely run the smaller 28s and swap the 80s at the tuner sounds like a good plan. Unless your tuner can make initial adjustments to just the ecm if you bring it to him.
A lot of GM ECMs have a constant value for the injector size that gets changed first before fine tuning.

Cool, I actually just grabbed a set of 28 truck injectors from my buddy. Hopefully there not too tall for the blower...If they don’t fit I’ll see if the tuner can flash the pcm for me ahead of time, sounds like a good idea.

Nooooo! Thats 4 times the injector you will foul plugs and drown oil with gasoline in seconds. We did that with 36-42 lb inj on stock ls1 tune on a cammed ls1

Well I started it up for a few secnods and it runs. It’s just dumping fuel and blowing some white smoke, so I only ran it for about 10 seconds. I got some Delphi 28’s from my buddy, and they just barely fit in the blower. I have to space the fuel rail mounts and lid bolts above the rail to make it work, but it’s only temporary and seems to work good. Just ordered some ls1 to Delphi connector adapters on eBay for 20 bucks.

Told you what would happen. That white smoke is excess fuel
