First Post: The Cleanest 87 Iroc I've Ever Seen
I feel so lucky that I found this car. It's a 1987 Iroc Z with a 5.0, 5 speed, 3.45 gears, 4 wheel disc brakes, AC, T-tops, 245/50-16's and a bunch of other stuff...
Here's the best part...It has only 26,500 original miles and is in absolute perfect condition...
As hard as it's going to be, I'm going to leave it stock. I may do a bolt on cat back and intake and some suspension mods, but that's it. She's going to be my garage queen Sunday driver...
I feel like I'm back in High School, except this time I'm dating a HOT 21 year old instead of a hot 17 year old...

I was searching for Camaro websites and found Camaroz28.com and was referred here since it's 3rd gen specific. Something tells me I'm going to be spending a lot of time here...
Until next time...

I just read that it's not advisable to post your vin so I edited the original sticker picture. The last six digits are not correct. I moved a few zero's around...

I don't see whats so great... the paint is flawless, interior looks like it has never been used, extremely low milage, and you could eat off the engine bay... wait a minute, that is amazing!!
How much did you have to spend for that 'ROC? I got mine for about $3,200 (from a dealership). Trending Topics

That what they all say... mwahahaha.
At least that's what I said until I put a catback on mine. That little mod just left me wanting more. Sharp car. Rare to see one that original and clean with so few miles.

Thanks guys. I got the carfax today. This car had one owner and in 1996 it had only 11,582 miles. In 1998 it had 19,600 miles...You can see that it was hardly driven.

Cool pic and CLEAN IROC! The runners in your TPI look aftermarket to me. I have AZ. S&M runners in my IROC to improve air flow and they look really similar.

Is there any indicator on them on the outside so I can confirm? I'll check for any stamping and post back. I thought they were stock though...

OK, I went out to check for any numbers or anything but there's nothing I can see. I took some pics so you can see them better. Let me know if they are the same. If they're aftermarket and provide better flow, then I'm a happy guy. If they suck then I'll take them off.
Let me know your impressions of them on your car. I can say that this car definitely has cajones!!!

After looking more closely, they are probably the stockers. Still a very clean car. You are the envy of many TGO members. Score for you. Heres a few pics of my stock and aftermarket runners:

Here's a shot of the plenum before porting to give an idea of how much aluminum was removed for more air flow for the larger TB:

And the ported plenum to help my larger TB:

And the TB's:

After market 58mm

and the factory one.

Thanks for the pics. I was told the car had never been altered in any way other than service, and that's one of the reasons I wanted it. I am actually glad that they are stock...
I am looking into suspension upgrades though. I also may do a bolt on catback and intake and just keep the stock parts...

Re: First Post: The Cleanest 87 Iroc I've Ever Seen
If I were you, I'd keep it stock for as long as I could. That includes no upgrades whatsoever. IF you feel the need to modify, why don't you buy a cheaper IROC and make a clone of your garage beauty you got there
Re: First Post: The Cleanest 87 Iroc I've Ever Seen
Very clean, I also bought a completely stock 91 Formula. I planed on keeping it stock, BUT I'm thinking whatever mods I do I'll keep the stock parts and reinstall if I ever plan to sell.

I'm not altering a thing. I just had it smogged today and it passed with flying colors...
I also found the build sheet under the driver's seat...How cool is that?...

The weather was gorgeous today so I took it for a spin. It's really cool with the t-tops out, almost like a convertible. I took a few more pics so I thought I'd share them...

Supposedly the Rob Zombie movie, "House of 1,000 Corpses" was filmed here, but I don't know for sure. Can someone confirm this?...

Super clean. It's got that Cali paint though, so keep it out of the sun! It'll bake the clear right off. That's what happened to mine. :'(
Take a look at Scott Moyer's car for a clean '87 as well. Willie also had an '87 Twin Turbo 305, and he has an '87 Vert. Duck has an '87 with the factory chin spoiler and 91-92 sideskirts and rear bumper cover. Who else have I seen with good '87's.

Re: First Post: The Cleanest 87 Iroc I've Ever Seen
True. Maroon IROC's unite! :P Like, 85-90% of all of the '87 Irocs I've seen are Maroon. I don't understand it. Mine was pretty straight, just had bad paint. Then my friend backed into the hood in the driveway, and then some old people hit me at Circuit City, and then I rearended someone in rush hour traffic (like, 5mph) but I impaled my bumper cover on his tow hitch. :'(
Re: First Post: The Cleanest 87 Iroc I've Ever Seen
very clean car. I didn't see were you posted what you paid.if you don't mind, I am just curious what a car of that status goes for.

My understanding is that side trim (molding) was an option. The RPO code for it was not listed on my sheet so I'm pretty sure the car did not come with them...
I don't know what the 73 RPO codes are, but it definitely has some good stuff on it...

Not necessarily man. The last time a calender was made yours would have definatly made it in, and knocked one of the other cars out of the running.
By the way, I don't think that link works. At least it wouldn't work on my computer.
