I bought this 91 Camaro RS from a friend for $500. I put the rims and tires on it from my 1985 Camaro RS clone, I also put the IROC grill and fog lights on it and The system in it as well and yes the system came out of my 1985 Camaro. Which I sold. Click on this link to see pics of the 91 Camaro RS. http://photobucket.com/dennine3003. Also let me what you think of my $500 ride.

Re: My $500 91 Camaro RS
If that is the original color then you got a good deal. Well even if it's not it still is a good deal. Did not see many interior pics. Why is that?? does that part need more work. I would take the window louvers off. It makes the car look dated. If anything tint the window. Other than that it looks good.

Re: My $500 91 Camaro RS
No its not the orginal color, it used to be red. I bought it with the yellow color. It gets to hot in Arizona for me to take the lovuers off. No there is no problems with the interior. The driver side seat has a tear in it other than that nothing.I still have alittle bit of work to do it still. I have put new struts, strut mounts, air shocks, bushings,springs.....Just little stuff.

Re: My $500 91 Camaro RS
Yea my wife dont like the louvers either but I dont care! They keep the sun from beating in the back. I still need to get the front end alined and new tires in the front. Need to do a couple more little things like......new turn signal switch, cooling fan temp. switch and relay. Im going to get it repainted yellow in Jan. or Feb. Other than that find some new seats sometime, in no hurry for those yet. Sometime this coming year I will pull the motor and redo the engine bay so its not red and yellow. I will keep everybody updated as I go.

Re: My $500 91 Camaro RS
Good buy for a five spot, appearance wise all it needs is a paint job. The attempt at repainting the front bumper was not successful but if it runs and drives that's about the best you could ask for in the price range.

I have replaced the turn signal switch, cooling fan temp switch and relay. Just need to find out why my bright lights dont work, I'm sure the plastic lever slipped off the rod. I even got my horn working. Now I need to get new front tires and the front end alinement done and she is road reading!

Yea it does get to 110 to 120 out here in Chandler. I dont drive it in the summer if I dont have too! I'll drive my wife's chevy truck. In the winter I will drive my Camaro! It mainly stays in the garage.

I've bought a 82 and 85 for $500(for both together) a few years back. Also I've bought a 85 for $200. I also bought a 89 IROC Z for $400 and bought a 84 for $400 w/ brand new engine in it. I dont have them anymore. Sold the 82 for $1,000 gave away the first 85. The other 85 I sold for $3500. My 84 my wife wrecked it. The 89 I pull the motor and tranny and put it in the second 85 then sold the 89 for $1,300. Then bought the 91 RS from a friend. The bad part about the 91 I gave the parts he needed to get running for free and he never did anything to it. I did after I bought it from him.
That is a steal for $100 that was a awesome dea for your 89!!!

Maybe! Just kidding!! He wanted $800 for it. I told him here is $500 cash take it or leave it and his wife took it. It was her Camaro anyway! They needed the money since they just moved and they were broke.

i like the car, but I have a funny observation...

the radiator coolant tank, which usually turns yellow on most cars, and would look good yellow considering the rest of your engine, is brown... LOL

seriously, nice car, great find. easily worth double that or maybe triple

The engine is black. I cleaned it up. The coolant and washer fluid are going to be new ones in about a month. It just needs little stuff right now. I'm not worried about them right now. I have been offered $4,000 for it and turned it down. I'm not going to sell this one like I did with the rest of the 3rd gens that I have owned(I'd fixed them up and sell them).

Yes I'm repainting it yellow, a darker yellow. I was thinking about it painting the lovuers yellow to match the car. I dont know if I will or not yet.

nothing against yellow, but I think too much and you'll regret it. I think black louvers and black eye sockets throws in enough classy contrast to keep it looking like a big banana

I also think black heritage stripes or some other kind of black stripe would look AWESOME with yellow

Iam going to put black racing stripes on it, you read my mind! I need to find a cowl induction hood first. I think a friend of mine found me one......I hope! I was just wanting to get some feedback on the lovuers if I painted them yellow. So far you are the only one that has said anything. I dont want my car to look like a banana!

Thats a good deal! There are some people here in Arizona that dont know what they have.......When they are broke and you make a offer and show them cash all they see is dollar signs!

Re: My $500 91 Camaro RS
It was even a tpi not a tbi. Not that I knew anything about it when I got. So far its got new brakes, fuel pump, starter, rims/tires, k&n air filter and intake pipe, head light motors, exhaust and a new battery. I have plans for a new motor and possibly a cowl hood.
I agree on that people do know always know what they have. Just makes it better for us I guess.

Nice! I did the same thing to mine when I got it. It already had a new fuel pump and starter also new radiator. I put new brakes, coil springs(front and back),most of the bushings, tie rods, smog pump, etc. and a few other small stuff. Now I want a cowl hood as well, just have to find one.

Re: My $500 91 Camaro RS
I also forgot to say that we took off the spoiler the car. Cant see why anybody thought that putting an rubbery spoiler on a car was a good idea. It had started to dry rot and was starting flop around. I aslo found out that with the motor setup I want to get I will need a cowl hood for it fit. So, it means a four and half drive there to get it. They sell the hoods (4inch cowl) online at ebay as well for 414 but if you have to get is shipped to Arizona i think its almost an extra 200 for the shipping (it was over a hundred for me!). Its the cheapest I found though.
So if somebody is looking for the formula firebird hood I should have one sitting around in about two weeks.
One of the good things about getting a cowl is that I can now a striped paint job instead of doing a two toned paint job. I do have one question should be do black with silver stripes or silver with black? I also have entertained the idea of yellow with black.
