Door side moldings...

I have a 1992 Z28 and I need to replace the side molding on the passenger side door. I found a place online where I can get a replacement, but it doesn't list the color. Here's the link: http://www.parts.com/oemcatalog/inde...layCatalogid=0

I need number 4 in that picture. Should I assume that it comes only in white?

Re: Door side moldings...

getting a good color match with an aftermarket part is impossible( almost ) . anyway check with a good local body/paint shop and ask them . there are so many side moldings that were/are used that it's hard to give a good answer . good luck .

I would figure that it would be the most body pieces that you buy and you have to have it painted your self to match but I really don't know. Try shooting them an email or calling.

I did notice that when you order it asks for your VIN number. I wonder if they'd use that to determine the color that you'd need?

As parts started to get older and stocks ran low, you got what you got, when you ordered a part from GM. It always seems you got whatever color you didn't want when you ordered. But the next time you ordered the same part you got the color you needed the last time. If you want to assume anything assume your going to need to get it painted to match. What you get could be painted, unpainted or primed for paint. But hey ... maybe it's your lucky day!
