BACK IN BLACK
After owning my 91Z since 96, it is finally getting painted. Yesterday I removed the front and rear bumper covers, hi-rise spoiler and ground effects. I plan on dropping it off on Tuesday and the guy told me if he keeps it more than ten days the job is free. Here are the before paint pics, enjoy

Re: 14 years waiting
Sweet. As far as the 10 day thing I would tell him to take as long as he needs to make it perfect and not to rush. You don't want him to rush through anything just to get your car outta his shop.

Re: 14 years waiting
Trust me, when I took it to him to look at and give me a quote I told him he could take as long as he needed since it isn't my DD but from the way he talked and the looks of the other customer cars he had there waiting to be picked up I think it is something he prides himself in. But I plan on reminding him he can keep it as long as he needs when I drop it off tomorrow. For anyone interested, stay tuned cause I plan on stopping by each day when I get off from work and snapping some pictures. Hopefully I don't get on the dudes nerves.

No pictures, the ol' lady didn't take the camera, but after work I got the car loaded up on the trailer with all the GFX, bumper covers, and spoiler in the truck and off to the shop it went.

Re: 14 years waiting
Well as the Lord says, "ask and you will receive." My daughter and I stopped by there today and the guy had the GFX, rear spoiler, and bumper covers all sanded down and prepped, along with almost all of the car. He was working on the hood when we got there, but had the rest of the car sanded down, the dents straightened or filled and the old mounting holes for the rearview mirrors filled. The owner told me the sanding would be finished and primer would start to go on tomorrow. Said I could swing back by on Monday and get a picture of it in full primer. Enjoy.

Re: 14 years waiting
Well the only difference from the pics posted is the front window is taped/papered over and the side window trim is taped up with the roll of tape is on top of the car. I suppose he took me at my word and will take as long as he needs, which I don't mind. I stopped by there Monday and one of his guys told me he was gone to pick up parts for one of the vehicles they were working on. I only drove by there yesterday and saw the car sitting in the same stall so didn't stop and took a differnt route home today, so I'll swing by tomorrow to get an update and snap some pictures.

And for what I refer to as the money shot. This is my reflection off of the right side B-piller. I will snap some pics of it sitting out in the daylight once I get it home tomorrow, so stay tuned.

Re: BACK IN BLACK
Thanks for the compliments. I got it home today and only got to unload it from the trailer and had to finish up errands and didn't get home till dark. So I will shoot those pictures tomorrow. With all the body work I needed done to it and surface rust removed he charged me $2000.

Re: BACK IN BLACK
Again thanks for the props. The color is the original onyx black. When I took it to the guy I told him I didn't want anything crazy, just the original color. I will begin reassembly tomorrow after church, stay tuned girls and boys.

Re: BACK IN BLACK
Never thought anyone would ever be jealous of mine, but thanks. I haven't been able to get much done to it but I did get the rear bumper cover, rear GFX, pass side GFX and rear view mirrows mounted. Pulled it out into the dayligh for some halfway decent pics. I've got Friday off so hopefully I can get a good bit done. I will post up with updates as I progress
