I posted this because someone else wanted to know about their first iroc
and someone was able to look it up. And give him info when it was last registered.

 

you could carfax it to see where it was last registered then contact that dmv and ask who owns it and send them a letter

Ok I did a car check, and it showed last time it was registered was 2006, still in AZ
No total losses, or wrecks, salvaged, or anything. There was one in CL about 6 months ago that was a 86 and I never could reach the guy,It had been painted red and the kid told me that was the first thing he was going to do. It was setting in a big field, same town the kid lived in when i sold it to him. So I am going hunting this weekend. My gut tells me that was my Iroc. Those Vin Check websites are rip offs.

Good luck, I always find such quests interesting. It's good that it went until '06 (20 years), especially for a Camaro, which tend to be beaten unmercifully. Unfortunately, the lack of registration in 5 years is probably not a good sign. If a car is just junked, most salvage yards don't go through the trouble of running the title through the DMV. It could have also been abandoned on an urban street, stripped, and then set on fire. But hopefully it is out there. Keep us posted!
