My 1988 Iroc project

Its a L98 car thats been sitting for a couple of years. I have a low mileage LS1/T56 combo sitting in the garage beside of it waiting to be installed. I have the fuel tank pulled and was in the process of putting a 4th gen tank in it when I injured my leg on my ZX-10. I'll get a pic of it with the tank on the ground tomorrow. lol It needs a LOT of work but hey, it'll be fun. This is my first GM product btw. Ive been a Mustang guy for years.

Sorry for the crappy pic. Its the only one I have at the moment. The car is sitting in my garage now out of the weather.

Very nice, the color you have there is a one year only color, so it's fairly desirable.

From one Stang owner to another, you'll love how well the thirdgen handles.

One year only huh? I had no clue but the color was the big reason for buying it.

I hear ya on the handling. My last stang was a '90 coupe with 3.5" Welds on the front with no sway bar. Handling was not one of its strong points. lol

Re: My 1988 Iroc project

Ordered a K member, rear lower control arms, pan hard bar and subframe connectors yesterday. I'm seriously considering a set of A arms today while they are on sale....

Re: My 1988 Iroc project

I plan on using the tank out of a '96 parts car that I had. Here is a good pic of the difference in the fuel filler necks between the 3rd gens and the LT1 4th gens:

Here is a pic of the sending units:
3rd gen:

LT1 4th Gen:

Thought this might help someone in the future

That color looks great when it's fresh...Jason E will likely chime in here, as he has your identical car in a 21k original mile flavor, and it's gorgeous.

Yeah when I drove my SN95 the first few times the word that came to mind with respect to the handling literally was "atrocious." I've since gotten used to it and it no longer seems too bad, but it truly felt horrible those first few cloverleafs I went through with it (proper suspension too, not in need of any repairs). I do quite like my SN though, it's very comfortable and the 4.6 is silky smooth so it will be my DD for hopefully quite some time. Only mods are a K&N FIPK II and Cobra headlights. Oh, and a pair of crappy glasspacks the geezer before me put on it, those will be going in favor of an X/Flows, probably in the spring.
