1992 RS pricing help!!

Fellow members,

I have been in search of a 1992 RS for a while. I found one in my area and the guy wants 3,000. The lowest he will take is 2,700. I'm thinking more like 1,700-2,200. The car has 192,000 miles and fires right up with no problems. The funny thing is this car was owned by somebody else and was not running. The guy who owns it now fixed it for his son but the son didnt think it was fast enough. My only quirks are the mileage and the transmission was slipping just a little. He says its a small fix (adjusment of the cable). I am not looking for this car to be a daily driver but I do want to get the most out of my money and not have a pit hole project car. Should I make a move or wait it out?? Although the car was running good I didnt have the urge to make a final offer. Other facts - AC works, Just replaced rear brakes, front wheel bearings, and complete tune-up.

Ideally I would prefer a car with under 150K and running fine. This would give me a little time before i had to replace the motor which i plan on doing.

Re: 1992 RS pricing help!!

watch out for that transmission, and if its a v6 then hold off and buy a v8 because the v6's are horribly slow
