Tonight I got my arm rest bulging issue repaired. (They are still clamped until tomorrow night), got the rear seat cushions shampooed, door panels shampooed, new headliner, sunvisors, and sail panel covers installed, dash pad installed, door panels and rear seat cushions installed, a pillar trim installed, under hood light installed, etc. It was a busy night. I ordered new carpet, and fog light trim rings last night. I ordered a hatch pull down kit tonight. I'm gonna shampoo the front seats and rear seat back when I put the new carpet in. She's gonna be like a new car, lol.
My daughter, Kaitlyn, picked up the car tonight. She's taking it to the exhaust shop tomorrow to get the new exhaust installed. I wonder if I'll ever get my car back?? She's IN LOVE
Couple more pics from tonight. It's funny with the metallic in this color, that at certain angles it looks like the nose doesn't match. It matches perfectly, as you can see in the last pic
My carpet is supposed to be here tomorrow. My car won't get out of the exhaust shop until Thursday at the soonest. They had the muffler and tail pipes there already before the car got there, but they are also replacing the cat back pipe.
I'm gonna try to get the 87 running this weekend. And...there's a city worker that lives right behind the body shop that I work at that came into the shop a week ago and told me of a yellow IROC that his sister had. He said she died like 10 years ago, and the IROC is still parked in a machine shed at their farm...just 3 miles away from me. He said his brother in law has zero interest in the car, and it's just been sitting in a corner collecting dust. He's supposed to be getting back to me if the car is for sale. He seemed to think it could definitely be bought. I know nothing more about the car, and I am SUPER anxious to find out. I can't believe the thing has been right under my nose and I hadn't sniffed it out lol
The exhaust is all factory size. It's a Strert Flow muffler, and actually sounds very throaty, considering it's stock size pipe. I had the exhaust shop make and cut the tips to look factory.

And mikeceli it's just a bone stock L98.
I'd like to LB9 to L98 my '89 IROC Vert, someday! Great build!
I shampooed the rest of the seats today. They were still kinda damp when I took the pics, so they may look like there are dark spots, but there aren't any stains, tears, or burns in them. I haven't changed out the carpet yet, so don't mind the faded and dirty carpet lol. I'm leaving the factory rear carpet, though...there's nothing wrong with it back there..... the dark spots are just wet spots from shampooing.
The carpet is the ACC, and it's a little darker than the original. That, or everything else might have a little sun fade to it. It looks alright since the seats are darker and lighter tan mixed.
I also removed the Bose head unit, and rear flip up box thing. I wasn't exactly impressed with the Bose, so now it has an Alpine head unit, Memphis Audio 4x6's in the dash, Memphis Audio 6x9's in the sail panels, Rockford Fosgate 750 watt, 5 channel amp, and JL Audio sub box with 8's. She rocks pretty good! Also, I didn't butcher up anything, so the Bose stuff can go back in if I ever sell it. I'm planning on driving this one quite a bit. Not daily by any means, but it will get some miles put on it this summer.
Aaaaaand....I sold it. It's going to Los Angeles to the same guy that bought my marroon 88, G92, 5 speed convertible IROC-Z. And I already have a new car located Not another project this time
The hauler picked up the car today. She is headed for sunny, Los Angeles. I was shocked that he didn't send an enclosed hauler for it, but he said the enclosed haulers were $2,000 for shipping....so he settled for this...
