What years are compatable?

I have a 1984 Firebird that I want to change the interior from Black to medium doeskin. If I go to a junkyard for the plastic pieces, what years can I look at that will be compatable? Can I look at Camaros of the same years?
Thanks!

Chris
PS...also considering painting mine, but would like to try this first.

All 82-92 model years are compatible Interior plastic wise.

Thanks! That's what I thought. Does that include Camaros, or just Firebirds?

Why would the camaro's plastics fit better in his Firebird? That makes no sense.

Chris
Depends what interior parts you get, I don't remember if it's the camaro's dash is like 1" longer, or the Firebird's dash is longer. Anyway, the dash(not sure if all of it, or just the pad itself) will not fit.

Re: What years are compatable?

The rear plastics are all the same, although some of the later cars got rear shoulder belts and will have slightly different rear side pieces. Door panels are interchangeable, but slightly different from camaro/firebird. Dash and console parts are totally different, although you won't need to change any dash/console parts to change colors.

Re: What years are compatable?

Thanks, everyone. There aren't many junkyards around where I live, and I don't think they put out a nationwide search. So if anyone has any leads, I'd appreciate it. I'll probably need all the cargo space pieces (parts over the rear wheel wells, headliner, etc.)as well as all the plastics.
Thanks!

Re: What years are compatable?

Fill out your location info in your Profile & maybe you'll find somebody close to you & you can pay less shipping on top of the parts cost.

Re: What years are compatable?

Thanks! I thought I had, but will check my profile and make sure it's up to date. For the record here, I live in Long Island, NY, Suffolk county.

Funny, I JUST found out about that place tonight and took down the phone number. I need to visit that and Medford Auto Wreckers.
Thanks for looking out.
