Not enough clearance for that I wouldn't imagine. Its a stock hood. I always got good results with Edelbrock Performer manifolds and they fit using a drop base air cleaner. Ive used them on several Camaros and Firebirds that had good power running in the lower 13s.

I use the Performer too, but am limited to the edelbrock triangle air cleaner, especially now that I put in new poly engine mounts. In the pic it looks like the hood has another inch or so of clearance over my stock(85) T/A hood.
Presently im running stock GM TBI intake and that's what I will be running after my 350 swap hopefully later this month but I have another bored out and cleaned up a bit to take a 46mm unit.
Have you seen the teaser ads from Hawks that they are going to be offering that hood in carbon fiber? No pricing info yet, but I like that hood, and might consider a switch to it someday to save some weight.

I've seen them and even asked about a possible release date. No date as of now. Price will be high but I'm sure well worth it.
.....so haven’t posted in a while since having a newborn but after 2 months I finally got to take the car out for a spin! Lol think I was going through withdrawal!
i just did hooker 2460 headers to the lg4,i put an eldlebrock rpm intake on last year and a holley 650 ultra double pumper(i bought that for the 350)
ill toy with the 305 on the side as it just keeps running good(albeit too damned slow for my taste).i have an L-82 cam im probably going
to put in it,tune it as good as possible (hopefully it will be around the L69 level of power then)then that's about all the attention that engine
is going to ever get till the L31 swap.
the lowly 305 currently(has headers and new spark plug wires now)
also im working on the L31 build still.ive gathered a ton of parts for it but i need rings, main and rod bearings,freeze/core plugs and a few more parts.
Ive gone through the vortec heads, lapped the valves, cleaned up the exhaust ports on the short turn radius.i very lightly and carefully blended
the ridge under the intake valve(very, very minimal)and deburred the combustion chambers .ive got felpro blue head gaskets, intake gaskets,
valve cover gaskets, oil pan gasket.this is just mocked up,not together yet.
i just pick away at it as i can afford to do things(not a lot of overtime, single income family),as i find motivation and as time allows, getting old kinda makes me a bit lazy(and cranky) in the 100+ degree days.
i borrowed your gta "tribute" idea as i parted that 1988 gta out last year.now this car has the gta seats, gta aluminum driveshaft, gta badges, the door moldings, the window sweeps, the 9 bolt rear end, iroc wonderbar,
i cleaned these rims up and got rubber on them, cleaned up my gold cross lace rims(from the gta)i had them on for a while and liked them.oh and i also added the umi sfc's,umi adjustable panhard bar,
umi torque arm and umi torque arm/trans mount/driveshaft loop..
its never ending but it gets me out of the house away from the "wife and adult kids".......can't just work and sleep, that gets a little dull and draining.this covid thing really sucks too.

^very cool to hear the gradual progression of what’s going on engine and car wise. I agree this hobby keeps our gears rolling which helps pass a lot of daily monotony. Will be exciting to see the engine fire up eventually!
i love the Pontiac rallies.i wish they would make these in 18" and wider(99% chance they probably do anyway but if they do,im sure they cost far too much)
color is perfect too!!!

Thanks, they are 8" wide, they do make bigger ones,Jegs or Summit has them, and they ain't cheap..
The blue is a lot closer to bright blue poly than whatever terrible maui/bahama blue paint that was on there.
Just giving it some cure time and have a new graphics kit with big hood bird to go on.
do you mean the full sized, tri color beautiful 2nd gen bird or the ugly, monochrome 3rd gen bird? (i love 2nd gen "pace car" turbo t/a birds the most but any of the 2nd gen birds look great)
i actually wanted to do the pace car turbo t/a bird then go grey on the roof of the car on mine to match how the bird integrates into the car.i think it might be a little tricky to get right on a third gen.

You know,it never occurred to me to to use a different bird, now I'm kinda kickin myself for getting the silver one, lol.
some may not like the second gen birds on third gens but i yearn for one.i especially love the white into grey on the pace turbo t/a's. but i really dislike the mono chrome bird they cheaped out with on the third gens in comparison.i know our third gens are more boxy, angular and not rounded off like the second gens but they definitely got the nicer graphics.if i ever get my car painted im definitely going to consider a second gen bird.
Just wanted to show off my baby I guess 😂 1992 firebird 305 V8 factory ttops GTA rims 109,000 miles all original atm. daily driver bought with 100k on it 2 years ago and I drive it 3 blocks down the road to work everyday take off her tops as every chance I get. needs a new headliner other than that shes a top for a 28 year old car I'm 3rd owner of this 3rd gen beauty had an issue with the chip on the key at first but she's been stored through every winter after 1st snow 2nd owner had it since 93 and it was always kept in the garage had all paperwork little bit of rust that's getting treated when I redo paint will post pics when I get around to painting thinking dark grey and gold to match my rims also would love opinions pros cons of going from tbi to fuel injection and slapshift manual transmissions and yes I know what your gonna say take out the 305 I'm looking into a 350 I was looking at universal transmissions on summit racing but haven't found one that has good enough reviews I don't want a real noisy transmission and alot of the universal ones I've seen have a noise to them. I can drive a regular 5 speed I just don't care for something like that in my daily I was thinking slap shift cuz I want a daily that I can still drive up to the strip and go home also a slapshift would be easier in busy traffic like st Louis and Chicago any suggestions on 350 engine+ tranny+rear end setups I'm 22 and need something pretty bulletproof I drive my car like I stole it every time I get in it can't help it haha so I want something that can handle a little abuse

definitely stay white if its a white car IMO.its up to you but its very hard to do a color change RIGHT.a color change is expensive and hard to do properly.you will have to pull the ground effects off (should do this anyway) to sand, prep and paint underneath and sand, prep and paint the ground effects separately, sand prep and paint inside the door jams, sand prep and paint along the fenders under the hood, sand prep and paint under the hatch(pull the weather stripping off) then sand ,prep and paint the rest of the car.staying the same color is far cheaper, matches the vin,rpo codes and holds the value of the car better.of course its up to you but a car color changed without following all the proper steps will look like deep fried a$$ if you see any of the old color anywhere in the doors, hatch, under hood etc. white looks so good when its fresh and bright too.
thanks! Yea I agree. I needed a quick solution at the time but I didn’t mind the cleaner look to the back of the car. Still prefer the dual tips though. Seen some recent pics of your car still looking great btw!
Building a small block over the winter to transplant next spring. She is a little lazy with the old 305 in there now, but next summer should be much more fun...

Me too.
Wanted to swap that 305 out day 1 but it ran so good.. Hoping get mine in there this Fall.
I am going to pick up a vortec 5.7 out of a late nineties Chev truck and build it. They were stock roller cam, vortec heads flow pretty well, easy builder.
just some careful measuring and masking tape,i only did them on the hood and spoiler because they were only spray painted to begin with so if i don't like it or change my mind im only out $20-$30.they may go away or get a different color if a change the rim color.i was thinking an anthracite or dark grey for rims/stripe or possibly blue as a throwback to the 1969 trans am.i have to re do the rims anyway and remove ALL THE 3-4 LAYERS OF PAINT with chemical stripper as they didn't turn out perfect.
im in the same boat as well, its a love/hate with the LG4 but it keeps running.ive got a couple 350 short blocks,l31 vortec heads valves lapped with new beehive springs, new retainers, new viton stem seals,an eldlebrock rmp vortec intake,a GMPP 7151 roller cam and new gaskets.
the mighty LG4 ,looks more dangerous and powerful than it really is.... the new heart!! vortec 350!! mocked up before paint,etc....lots of shiny bits(all used parts)
^beauty! What’s the specs? I know you have a decent collection, probably need to view your thread to see updates
It was an impulse buy several years ago and I haven't done a thing with it. Maybe 100 miles in 10 years? Kinda rough was crashed pretty good and repaired poorly but drives just fine.
Been kicking around the idea of selling for a couple years.
