Thanks NastyL98_T/A!

Thanks to Tony we got my vette screaming now! we played with timing and it's bumped up to 10-12 degrees. got a base time but the damn dampner was greasy and only seen 1 of the marks with a flash light. so Tony and i took that for the base time and bumped it up some. no pinging at all and at a 10 mph roll she wants to break the rear tires loose on a WOT romp! 20 more hp or so i think she will

timing helps alot on our TPI motors. mine was set at 3*BTDC when i bought it, and just by bumping it up to 9*BTDC i gained 2 tenths and 2mph

LMAO... nah it's not like that man. it's about gearheads helping eachother! might be a time he will need me to pull a motor or build a computer or run wireless through out the house

no more bog at low rpm and low mph! on a slow roll punch around 5-10 mph starts to break loose the tires but not completely. tonight i brought her out to school and with the dryer air man dropping the hammer at 65-75 mph in 2nd gear is getting somewhat violent!

I like Violence

doing an oil change sat and putting my front Y pipe on and i hope i do pick up a few tenths. better yet i hope i can hook the car at the track cause i think i need some DR's now especially when i do get a stall converter next mod will be a high flow cat from www.exoticmuscle.com for 150 bucks then all i need is a rear Y pipe and my exhaust will be done less long tube headers. our L98 have crap shorty headers but they are atleast headers and not manifolds. Longtubes are expensive! i think i'll wait on them

man with the dryer air i took her to school tonight so i could play alittle when i got out. definetly no more bog at all! i am so happy well lets get onto it.....

i can definetly hear the rear wheels spin over on the 5-10 mph punch. at idle in park or neutral i sat at school and just listened to her. jabbing the throttle from dead idle 600 rpm to 2000-2500 rpm it is real crisp with no bog. i thought the bog was from a rich factor that these cars have. launches are more consistent and real hard! i stopped on a back road and stalled out maybe 1100 rpm and let her rip. WOWSA! those 285/40/17's with the 2.59 rear gear lit the *^&$ up! seen average of 4700 rpm with a spike of 1 yellow bar around 5100 rpm then backed back down to around 4700 rpm and finally hooked. when she hooked i immediatly slapped into 2nd gear and she bit hard with a nice loud chirp at 4900 rpm.

sheez she is starting to come alive.....Alive i tells'ya!

No prob man. It was fun. Damn balancer had no marks so the timing was set the "*******" way. Bump it up a little, drive it. A little more, drive it. Uh oh! I hear knock, back it off some! lol.

It's funny you say that Mic. I will need some help this weekend pulling my motor out. Seems that my rings have gone bad already.

no prob bro just let me know when you want to do it. i'm free all day saturday sunday is up in the air.

BTW i put that new front Y pipe on with no pre-cats and uht uhm gutted the main cat till i get my hi-flow cat installed. man she wants to rip now! from a 5 mph roll racing a blue dodge ram with the stripes and exhaust wanted to play cause i could hear him rev up going down the road so we hit a light and it just turned green when we got there and we both were still rolling and i nailed it and she spun up to around 3500 rpm on the roll and laid posi marks for a good 50+ feet when i hit second he was around 8 cars errr truck lengths back

after we turned around he got next to me and asked what year it was and i said an 87 he said he usually beats the ones that are before the LT-1's i said you never ran a low to mid 13 sec TPI vette that was tuned properly and hammered it again

That works out perfect Mic! I plan on starting around noon, have the motor out by 3 and a bare block on the stand by 7 . Plus the shop is only a 1/2 mile from the MVA
