anyone willing to help me with tune?
i'm in martinsburg west virginia, about 20 miles south of hagerstown maryland, and i'm a rather new mechanic. as far as following instuctions and bolting things on, changing fluids and things like that i have no problem, but the technical aspect of getting my car running as well as it can, air/fuel ratios and that sort of thing, i'm clueless. i've got a ported tpi, an afpr, msd ignition, and i think a vacuum leak lol. honestly i think my car should be turning very low 13's, maybe 13 flat but i know it isnt running as strong as it should. is there anyone in this area that is good with tuning that would be willing to come out and help me straighten this thing out? i would really appreciate it and would owe you or do you a favor, hell even pay you if thats what it takes. i just don't feel comfortable taking it to a shop, all the ones around here are taylored to **** burners. thanks,
Shaun

give me some specs and maybe i can help you
it sounds like you have done a lot of improvement to your car, but a lot of things the we forget is the basics first i would check the timing most small blocks base timing to start with and idle but in this case the computer controls all that start with base timing by disconnecting the timing connertor and set at 0' base and go from their and and then go BTDC 2,4,6,8,10,and so on and check vac. with gage should be 18 to 22 ihg of vacume chevk these first

my timing is set at 8, thats about all the fine tuning i've done. dont have a vacuum gauge but i'll probably go pick one up today. can anyone recommend a good shop, maybe with a dyno within an hour or so of here that could fine tune my car and would be cool enough to let me hang out and see how they do it?
