I got a lap top for tuning awile back now im carb so i dont need it. Needs to be taken to a computer store and get cleaned has some virus. Its a Dell Latitude CPx. Asking 75

 

Do you know what speed processor it has? The CPx came in a few different flavors. If you can get it to work, you can find the info by going to Start -> Control Panel -> System. While you're there, it'll tell you what size hard drive it has too.

 

it wont get to that point it just goes to the windows screen then loads the backround then says fatal error has occured restart computer and if i restart it, it does the same thing. So if nobody wants it like this ill have to get it fixed and sell it for more.

 

If it gives a fatal error its more than just a virus (which did attribute to the problem) its probably the hard drive is going bad since takes that long to load up. Speaking from a technical stand point and what I do for a living, just some advice if you have the restore software and even the tuning software just replace the hard drive and re-install everything. If you are able to handle it dont let geek squad handle it. I used to work for best buy before geek squad and ever since they came out I heard bad reviews about them. No offense to anyone that may work for them.
91greenbird - let me know if you need any other info, I am dell certified and have worked on plenty of dell laptops (I prefer them over other as far as laptops are concerned) I am in connecticut right now and my camaro is in richmond va so if I had some cash I would just drop a hard drive to you. I have a couple 20 gig drives that I have no use for right now.

give me a pm so we can fix that issue have going so you could possible sell the laptop for around 200 maybe 250 no more than that since its an older machine anyways.

 

how much and were do i get a hard drive. 100 bucks takes it dont have the money to fix it anybody?
