Re: Question Regarding the Price of a 1982 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am
Right away I would point out that you said you are looking for an original type car but the description lists a 350. In '82 the top engine was the high output 305.
Are you looking to invest in an original car to be driven infrequently and somewhat saved as an investment or are you looking for a daily driver?
$15k is enough money to buy a very nicely preserved car if you are looking for something investment grade. If you are looking for more of a driver you can find a nice solid car for a fraction of your budget.

$15k to spend on a car? I'd buy a 2nd gen while you can still find one for that. Yeah, I know the Mods will hate me for saying that, but that's what I'd honestly do.
Correction since I just noticed the 'DD' - save $5k or so of that for a DD, and spend the rest on a nice, original 3rd gen.
