"Bought" TA back

I ended up getting the TA back (technically never left)
so I pulled the motor, it was supposed to be some "old rebuild 305" and turned out to be a early 80s monte carlo 305 , it has the 416 heads on it, I haven't taken the motor apart yet, but everything looks good so far.

I'm going to gut the car and do a quick "freshing up" of the 305, it will get a cam, intake, carb, shot of n20, etc

hope to see 13s for less that $1000 in mods

I'll tell you what, it is nice to finally have my own garage to work in.

Dad and I rebuilt the 700R4 over the Thanxgiving holiday last fall, and I just got the engine and tranny into the car last week (not running yet). I was going to use a Q-Jet but sold it and got a 700cfm Classic DP from C&J in Sterling. The Megashifter is in place. I have some minor valvetrain issues to work through and I had a TC-flexplate and starter issue that has been rectified (waiting on some parts). When I removed the crossmember to get the engine and tranny out I broke the two bolts off of the drivers side of the crossmember that hold it to the subframe, and they had to be repaired.

I found two real nice seats out of an 89 Gand Am over at Green River for $50.00 ea. They look like new and they will bolt right onto the F-Body seat rails.

I also got lucky and located a set of 16" WS-6 rims up in the city that needed some attention, but will look very nice when finished. I paid $145 for all four wheels and then spent just over $200 on replacement lug nuts and lug nut caps, one center cap, and four center cap emblems. What a joke!

Hopefully I will have it running soon. Then I can paint it and be enjoying it. I hope to have it completed for the car show down on the river around the time of the Petunia Fest. Not holding my breath though. Its hard to keep at it with 4 rugratts, all seven and under! They're good kids.

When you get your car out drive it over, mine won't be ready but that's OK.
