NEED a rear end in the Chicago area!!!
Well, got my car towed home yesterday and dropped the pan to find that 1/5 of my pinion teeth are missing and quite a few of my ring gear teeth were ground off as well. I guess those 3 runs at the track the other day pushed my 80k original mile 2.73 gears a bit too far.
Anyways, I want to find a 4th gen rear to swap in, but if I can't I guess I can live with just a stock 3rd gen rear for a while. It must have working posi, be somewhat-low-mileage, cheap, and preferably gears over 2.73. Disc brakes are a plus, but not required..
If anyone needs (maybe for a TBI car or something), I have a full 2 3/4" cat-back sitting in my garage that I replaced with a 3" SLP cat-back. It is in perfect condition, probably just a bit under 5k miles on it. The outside of the pipes look brand new, and the insides of them are just "carbony"
not pitted at all... possible trade or something?
EDIT: Oh, and I cut it well, on a straight portion of the pipe (where the over the axle pipe goes up from the I-pipe) so it would be easy to basically bolt on. The only thing you'd have to do is bend the one bracket back unless I get around to doing that first (not a big deal).

I have a posi 2.73 rear out of an 88 rs camaro. It has 90000 miles on it and worked fine when I pulled it. It is complete with all brakes and drums. I would be willing to trade. I am on the west side of milwaukee.

Hmmm I'll have to think about it. I'd like to get shorter gearing and was hoping for a bit lower miles and disc brakes BUT for the price, I can't really complain. I'll let you know in a few days.
