hello all.

i need to know how one state communicates with another regarding tickets?

a couple of months back i got a ticket in iowa - johnson county. i paid my ticket a couple of weeks late.

all of a sudden i get this letter from the illinois dept. of transportation that my license may be suspended by the 17th if the dont receive verification that i paid for this ticket?

i called johnson county they said they forward information to the des moines dept? i keep getting the runaround regarding this matter? how do i go about proving to illinois state that i paid for this ticket? johnson county says they dont provide receipts?

I would speak to someone from IL Secretaty of State, they are the ones who would suspend the license. They would know who you need to contact, and can tell you if they recieved payment confirmation from Iowa.

Keep in mind that some states issue a warrant if you no-show to court or pay late (even if you do pay, but they recieved it late). Hopefully that is not the case, cause you will have to go back to Iowa to get it all fixed.

 

they put a warrent out- a guy i work with got a parking ticket he was like i live out of state they will never get me- we all laughed at him since no one likes him- 2 months later they pulled him over for not using his turn signal to switch lanes- they hauled his *** to jail
