you should try doing it yourself. its not hard.just base coat (i did 4 coats) then 5 coats of clear coat.

Thats WAY TOOO MUCH Paint and Clear. If you spray correctly, you will only need two coats of each, three of color if its a very transparent color.

If you are just after good and not perfection, go to a community college with a Body program, they will be able to do it for a decent price(a complete at my school runs about 800-1k depending on what all needs to be done and what kind of paint you want.

^^^^ before i painted my car BLACK i painted it hugger orange so i wanted to make sure to cover it all in black and not have any orange showing threw.thats the reason for 4 coats! the 5 COATS of CLEAR ,you end up wet sanding some of it off so there needs to be enough so it wont FLAKE!

BUT what the hell do i know... talk to the pro^^^^

the color isnt such a big deal as one coat doesnt put a whole lot of material on, but 5 coats of clear will put about 10-12 mils of product, anything over 12 mils of buildup make cracking alot more common and depending on how much primer was used, you would be way over that limit. Two coats of clear will give you more than enough to wet sand, if you really wanted to you could go with 3 though.

oh. well i guess when your a non pro like me you just end up wet sanding a bunch of the clear coat off to make it nice and smooth.

the point i was tryin to make was that they should try doing it them self .if you know somebody who paints ask them to watch to make sure/and to show you the proper way of painting!

anyone can paint really, just make double, triple, and quadruple sure that there is no dirty what so ever on the car, and dont use things like armoral anywhere near the car or any oils as it will cause fisheyes. now if bodywork is needed, then it can get a bit tricky. just dont hose on product too wet, its better to be on the light side for an amature, orange peel is alot easier and quicker to sand out than runs.
