Hi guys, I am from columbia MO, not to terribly far from kc. Anybody here done friday night grudge at KCIR? I am planning on going friday, and am kind of curious how many runs a person can typically get.

Re: Kansas City
hey bart, im not far from kcir, my car isnt quite ready for the strip yet. but i do plan on getting it out there this season. if iirc they open at 5:30 and start racing at 6 till 10:00, cause a bunch of idiots built houses next to a drag strip, then bitched about the noise!
so really its as many passes as u can fit into that time block and depending on how many show up, and how many leak or break.

Hey, thanks for the info, I am kind of curious of the typical turnout, but I guess that track cleanup could make it tough to get many passes even with a small turnout.

Does anybady know if they require mufflers for the friday fun drags? I would not think so, but being that it is in the evening I should ask to be sure.

damn it, i need a flex plate! otherwise id be out there tomorrow.
i need to dial in the carb and timing, the strip would be way better then getting pulled over on the street.

Mine ran good, well, except for the run where the piston exploded, but other than that it went well!

wtf, that blows a!
lemme guess, to much juice and not enough gasoline? or lots of comp+rpm, and alil detonation?
anyways what kinda times did the K.I.A engine run, before being... well being killed?

Re: Kansas City
It ran 11.50s @ 121 with a 1.7 sixty foot. i think that it would have had an 11.20 if I could have hooked, but the track was terrible.
I do not know why it blew, I had over revved it a couple times, but nothing real serious. I think it was probably just from cheap piston, I had KB claimers in it. They are a low price piston, but I thought they would be fine for a low rpm pump gas 406, not so much!

i need a few more parts to complete my trans brake install. so no track for me. other then that i just need a trailer to get her up there.
check your throttle valve adjustment, i belive they have to be perfect on the 700r4, check the transmission section for better help.

Re: Kansas City
also this is just a big maybe, but one of my buddies is really good friends with a tuner and he may be buying the software and learning to tune from that guy. If he learns everything about it and actually gets the software here soon he said he would charge about 150 or so to tune for the first time then really cheap anytime you come back to him. Just throwing that out there he lives in Columbia, Mo and I will post a thread if he gets goin on it.

Check out speedtweakerz.com. It's this speedshop down here at the lake, they are really good at working with people and all of their prices are negotiable to a certain extent. They have a dyno there too and can do full tunes and all that fun stuff
