Central Ohio Newb

Hello to all,
My name is Tyler, but most call me Scooter.
I was born and raised in central Ohio. (Newark to be exact)
I love cars while somehow hating them at the same time.....
Anyhow, I am in the process of starting my first Third Gen project.

Here's the setup:
1985 Trans Am
1999 LS1
1996 T56
Do the math... haha. I can't wait to get the ball rolling on this one!!!

Enough about me, Anyone else from the central ohio area?

Why you are mating an LT1 T56 to an LS1? I know what you mean about the love/hate relationship with your car.

Caleb, I made the mistake of purchasing these things too fast. I thought I did enough research. Now, I have a LT1-T56 that I have to put over $600 in to make it work...
Oh well. That's the game we all play. You live and you learn while paying for extra costs that you didn't anticipate lol.

Re: Central Ohio Newb

I'm from Georgetown, OH. Moved here 3 months ago from up in Canada. Been looking for thirdgeners around central/southern OH.

I've got a 385ci. 87 Iroc on spray. Should be fun come spring.
I'm a carb junkie though.
Carb the LS1, uncork it's true power, lol.

Re: Central Ohio Newb

Scooter,

You ever go to the night the light (I think thats the name) car show in Newark? I think I falls on labor day. I missed last years, but I usually meet up with some buddies there.
I live in Plain City, about 5 miles west of Dublin. Got an 86 Iroc thats never done. Been living in Columbus for almost 6 years, lived near Akron before.

Re: Central Ohio Newb

As DIYs, we're on a budget(usually). I would carb the LS1, but it would be more expensive to convert than to wire in the ECU. But, it might be easier to carb.....

For now it will stay FI.

Hey Tom, I have gone to the show. It's called Light the Night, you were close enough.

I took my last project car up there. It was a 95 Mits Eclipse. Cool ride, miss her for sure.

I plan on bringin my bird up this labor day. Maybe I'll see you there.
