Anybody in Oakland county with an O2 meter want to help out a fellow ThirdGener? I can offer have hoist, scanner access in trade. Getting low voltage reading on one sensor and want to confirm rich mixture.
I don't have one, but someone must, heres a bump for you. try checking out some of the other forums, mifbody.com and camaroz28.com have lots of ppl in the area. Looks like a sweet couple rides you have, hope you get it fixed!!
BTW, low voltage would be lean mixture. the higher the voltage the bigger difference in oxygen content between inside the exhaust and outside the exhaust. hence low voltage = lots of o2 outside and lots o2 in the exhaust

Thanks, I don't have time to always keep up with this site. People are nicer here.
Yeah, I know. My nose tells me its running pig rich. I've changed too many things I'd like to check the mixture independently. I screwed up my headers and had to remove the O2 sensor end cap 'cause it hits the starter. Not sure if i wrecked the sensor.

Well, if pcm thinks it's running lean, the sensor is indicating lean but your nose says rich, I agree that you need to get a known good o2 in there. my suspicion, based off what you've said is that the sensor is sending the wrong signal, either it is messed up, or the wiring is compromised. Thusly, just like a Porsche driver, it is over compensating.
wish I could help more, but I don't know where to get 1. Does the reading move around when you hit the gas? if it is stuck at 0v (or very close to it) I'd be very confident about getting a new o2. maybe you can find an independant shop near you that would be willing to put one in temporarily to confirm 1 way or another.
