Hey guys Ive been on this forum for a bit, been under all the other threads never really looked into the mid-west forum So i figured Id try to get to know some guys around the area and see whats going on.

Thirdgen Fest is located every Memorial Day weekend in Crete, IL. It is the world's biggest and longest running 82-92 Camaro/Firebird event. It brings in cars from around the midwest and Canada and lots of local cars are here every year as well.

Hey, I live in carol stream not too far from you guys. I have an 89 firebird tpi 350 I'm down for a cruise. I will be back up and running this week after I get my injectors on.

 

Yeah I have heard about thirdgen fest. Will have to mark that on my calendar for next year. Carol Stream and Round lake aren't too far from me. Too bad the season is coming to an end, could plan a meet and greet.

 

Yea for sure name the place to meet.

Most definitely. I think mines going into the garage until spring tonight... AIR Pump seized today.... so looks like I may start taking stuff off sooner than expected.

 

Have any of you guys have been to the village of plainfield's weekly car cruise/show? It's every tuesday along the main street through the shopping/business area. I've been there a couple of times and it was always a good turn out, plus you can also stop in the local watering hole for a nice refreshing pop!

We should all meet up there sometime before the weather goes south.

I may be in for a cruise on the 22nd. I was gonna say we could meet up at the plainfield cruise in on tuesday night, but I just checked their website calendar and the cruise ins stop after september, bummer!

I've been in it for like 20 years. Great folks, but a little light on 3rd gens. Time to change that!

Western burbs here, Bellwood to be exact. I've been seeing a few third gens in my area to, can never catch up with them though. Wouldn't mind starting up sum kinda car club.

I've been off for a while too, busy with the car and other things. I'm in Orland Park, often travel around the area for a day here and there. (DeKalb, Schaumburg, Joliet, Etc.)

 

Sweet. Going to the corvette show/swap meet the 15th at bill jacobs chevrolet in Joliet? I'm looking for drag shocks so I'll be there.

 

Kick ***, I hope to have my car running by then, I'm about 40mins from crete and will be my first year.

Every saturday there is a meet at a place called Strats, its in Villa Park. 231 E North Ave right off 83. Usually show up around 7pm. There is quite a bit of third gens that show up. I will show up in the next couple weeks. I am finishing getting my C5 brake set-up on the car so I can drive her. I will let everyone know when I am going to be heading out that way. Hopefully some of you can come. I would like to meet some of you guys on here.

 

Kind of like the 4 corners off Lemont rd and Ogden? That's as far north I'll go I hate north siders.

 

We started a separate thread for that just yesterday, im one of the guys that show up on those saturdays, we have a small little group that comes up north up 83rd. we are trying to get as many people as possible to come on saturday nights, perhaps get a criuse together going there?
