C6 Rims
C6 Rims
Hello out there, I am new to this place, hope I'm going about this the right way. I have a 1988 Formula that I want to put C6 rims on. I just recently got the car and it has 16" Torqthrust rims on it now and I really don't care for the look. Anyway I got and great deal on some C6 rims that are staggered (I think that's what you call them) 18's for the front and 19's for the rear. I want to be able to just bolt them on without any mods except of course adapters if needed. I have read many of your posts as per what size tires I should get and it seems like there are many options. I'm thinking 245/40/18 on the front and 285/35/19 on the rear, and as far as adapters no clue, seems like everybody is using different setups. I know the off sets of the rims have something to do with it. Mine are +38 on the 18's and +79 on the 19's. Any suggestions? Thanks for your time Guys!
Re: C6 Rims
double check what your stock offset is suppose to be for your '88, cause I think it is around +5 to +10. I wouldnt recommend a C6 setup for these cars. I looked into the same thing for my '91 and ran into a whole ton of issues....most important issue is expense of the tires to fit under the car when both being staggered and matching. The next is if your stock offset is close to what I am thinking, you are going to have major issues with rubbing.
Good Luck
