Need new tires

:lala: I'm going to need tires soon. Any suggestions on which to buy? I have 1996 Camaro. Not z28. Normal driving. Want traction as much as possible. Thanks

Bridgestone Potenza RE910 good traction, good wet, reasonable price. Or if you want higher performance, but not Z-28 level try the Bridgestone Potenza RE950. It's H rated to 130 and handles very well, without being a Z-rated stiff ride. Also offers Bridgestone's Dual-Layer tread which gives killer wet traction throught the whole life of tire. Check into those 2 & see what you think. Bridgestone offers a 30 Day Test Drive on their tires, so if you don't like them for any reason you can return them for full credit on something else. Tire Rack offers this program, and probably has the best prices.

Thanks Taturbo. I was checking out the Potenzas RE910s and they looked like the best to meespecially the price and compared to other reviews on higher priced tires. You confirmed it for me. By the way, do you know of any problems with the Service Engine Light soon light for the 1996s? Mine has been on since I bought it. I bought it used and after a month of having it the light came on and has pretty much stayed on constantly. I've owned this car for 3 1/2 years. I had the code read and they erased it and the light went out for about 10 miles of driving it then it came back on. They said the code meant there was something wrong with the transmission which I haven't detected any problem with. Consumer Reports says it's a defect on this year and another year of this model? Just wondering what if anything you know of it.

Thanks

What # was the code?
I have a mechanic at work who came from a GM dealer, he could tell me if it's anything major. Usually when the light comes on it means something needs attention and putting it off too long can lead to more costly repairs if affected systems are damaged too.
If it's a defect for that year then it maybe okay to ignore. Might be a good idea to post a question on the tech board.
