Looking for TPIS Insider Hints Book

Hey guys,

Came across the name of this book from a tech article, it would be really nice to have for my ever growing literature collection for my car.
Slowly learning all the ins and outs and would like more of the old school tips and tricks!

Re: Looking for TPIS Insider Hints Book

The book mostly consists of air flow comparisons. Not a bad read though

Re: Looking for TPIS Insider Hints Book

Any books that really details the ins and outs of the LB9 engine? Tricks, tips, general stats, things of that nature?

Re: Looking for TPIS Insider Hints Book

At the end of the day it's just a 305 with a TPI setup. There are things you can do to either / both, but there's no special sauce to LB9s that make tuning them different than any SBC with a TPI setup. I picked up some 90's books on TPI stuff (including the TPIS book) and they weren't the smoking guns I wanted them to be. Lots of info like "what is an o2 sensor" and "this is what a crankshaft looks like" type stuff, very useful to the uninitiated in the pre-internet days but not so much now.

Re: Looking for TPIS Insider Hints Book

Well I guess that solves that. Thanks for saving me a couple bones, I found one from 96 that covered the LT1 as well, they wanted 90+ shipping lol.

Re: Looking for TPIS Insider Hints Book

I have one of these. I bought it through mail order way back when I purchased a TB air foil (Oooo!) and an adjustable fuel pressure regulator from TPIS. It's a fun read, but it won't tell you anything you can't easily find on the interwebz these days. It mostly covers the "impressive" gains you get from modifying the MAF or cranking the fuel pressure up a bit.

After that you can read the book,

HOW TO RUN 11 SECOND E.T's
'82-'92 CAMARO / FIREBIRD

Don't get all excited though, after wading through 20 pages you finally learn the secret is to pull your engine and get a bigger engine.
