NJ inspections emissions help!

im gonna swap my 3.1L for a 383 TBI, and i dont want wiring...is there some sort of hot rod exemption in nj? if you do an engine swap are you exempt from emissions? or are they extra leniant?

if they dont know you have an engine swap, youre better off not telling them.
im assuming its a whole state thing, but where i am (north jersey) they have an inspection for "modified vehicles" ive never gone to it, but my bro has for his trucks. id just try and pass with out sayin anything, a 383 will look just like a 305, only worry is that the 383 will have some higher emissions but youre Cat should easily take care of that, my stock 350 with no cat (its there but chunks fly out, so im guessing its pretty beat up)
passed great, i just failed for a non workin 3rd brake light.

first of all no LS1 are euipped with TBI

you dont want wiring? then why are you swapping to TBI

you'll need to change your entire wiring harness, you'll need to change your intank fuel pump, etc.
