lightweight rear hatch?????

lightweight rear hatch?????

does anyone know a company that makes the glass for the rear hatch out of lexen/plexyglass or something to make that lighter

im trying to keep my car under 3000lbs with no gas and me in the car and the AC is gone i have a fiberglass hood and i need to lighten up the rear a bit

i live in north/central NJ (Newark)

Axle/Gears: Srange 12 bolt; 5.14 or 5.38
There's lots of areas to lose wt in the 3rd gen cars. Also, instead of lightening the rear, you would be far better off looking ahead of the rear tires for places/items to shed wt. Mine w/o me in it is very close to 3k as it sits depending on how much gas I have in it, class min is 3155 including the 170 lb driver allowance and I run about 20 lbs heavy just to be sure I pass weight check.
