1986 T/A for 7K?

I found a 1986 Pontiac Trans Am nearby for 7K. It's black with gold ground effects, and gold rims. It has the 305 TBI and automatic, found from Car Fax. It also said it has something on it's record, but I didn't buy the report, so I don't know. What I do know is I bought my truck that I drive from the same dealer, and this truck has been very good to me. I'm considering buying this T/A and selling my Firebird thats currently in the shop when I get it back.

However, that 7K price tag is holding me up a bit. The car looks in imaculate condition, interior and exterior. I haven't actually gone to look at it yet, but plan to tomorrow. No rust, says it's been garaged all it's life. Here's the kicker thats holding me up. 66K on the odometer. Seems like it was garaged all winter long, which up here in the north is good.

I'm just not 100% positive an '86 T/A would be worth 7K, even with low milage. I do plan on looking at it tomorrow and talking about possibly trading in my truck I bought from him about a year ago in on it. I got this old F-250, so it'll go in one of those tents for the winter, just as it always has been. Any feedback from you guys?

You could talk them down to $5k for sure. It's just a TA, unless there's something rare about it.

thats way too much for it . Their prolly gonna say it was just painted and the interior was redone and a new trans an new engine and thats why its so much . Id think 4500 is the most id go . 5k is too much for it.

Holy s**t, quick replies! THank you guys.

Yeah, I hear that about talking him down, but being a dealer, he probably won't want to wander too far from what he's asking.
As for rare? I couldn't find anything extrememly rare about it.86 Trans Am

I agree 5k is too much even, i paid less for my 89 gta with a 350 and 67,000, the key her is to look look look and then look some more.

We're talking about a northeast dealer here, not a private sale in the midwest. $5k is a pretty average price for a 60k mile car that's 20 years old and looks to be in great shape around here from a dealer.

Yeah, thats what I though. 5K was what I was gonna offer him, but I got tnagled up in some bull**** with my bank account today, so I didn't get a chance to go over while he was there. I'm thinking of taking a ride just to look at it for myself. THanks for the opinions guys, I think I'll stick with mine, which I'll be getting back possibly tomorrow.
