I used to live down in that area, and I could hear it from my house. That was back before I could drive, or even care about what was going on there. Now I wish I still lived 5 minutes from a drag strip, 40 minutes to Island sucks.

Since your still researching, you have a 3.1L 60degree 6 cylinder motor bolted to a 700R4(auto) or t-5(manual) transmission with 3.23(auto) or 3.42(manual) axle ratio. Granted its all stock.

 

Thanks for the kind words, and the parts listing. The car needs a bit of work......what you cant see in its picture is that the ground effects on the outside are a bit beat,and the interior needs an overhaul, but i'm thorougly enjoying the car. I'm looking for advice on getting parts locally, and for other F-body drivers who know what they are doing with these cars.......looks like I've found the place.

hey kaseobeer. im from lock haven. do you have a camaro. will they work on engines at penn tech. they use to do it at lock haven high . for some reason they quit it.maybe liability . my engine has a knock. i will probably be pulling the engine out.

 

Yea I have a camaro, 88 IROC just got it last week. They do some repair work at the school but its only on newer vehicles 96 and up I believe.

 

Meadville,PA here. Not too many 3rd gens locally, just what's left from the Mullit dudes and a few known nice ones.

Once in awhile I see a nice one, but I figure it's just passing through.

 

A friend of mine had work done there on his 91 Jetta last year. So I don't think it'll be a problem for them to work on it as long as its in the curriculum.

Well if you're in Lancaster, get in touch with one of the Lancaster Career & Tech Centers. They might do something if you buy parts. It might only be student cars, but worth a shot. There's already a few cars parked out there already so I don't know.

Can't really help you. I want to get my car in there for paint.

These are pics of the Race Ace ones I have on there now... I don't like 'em... Because of the location I have them at, I could put the 3rd Gen Camaro louvers on there and it should look hot IMO.

Everyone here at work agrees with you that it may look pretty sweet actually. I just need to find the vents... are you aware of anyone local who has a hood or vents they want to sell or give away? Or any sites online where you can purchase them? Thanks!

Haha thanks yah I like it. I got a reply from guy saying that he has a set of the Iroc Z louvers... I just PM'ed him for his location, price and pics. Do they have drain pans under them or are they just open?

 

it depends whos had emm some could have custom drain pans others could do absolutly nothing... in your case cause of your jeep just get the cosmetic ones you dont want mad water on the top of the block as it is... goin rompin or from just sittin in the rain...

 

I don't do anything to my rig unless it serves a purpose I already have holes in the hood from the current louvers. Jeep engines are sealed real well, so it's not a big deal. I'd just be putting catch pans in there over the distributor (which I seal with RTV) and the throttle body (sensors, etc.. as I killed my TPS once already).
