Hey guys, I am thinking about doing some spectator racing with my new machine. I am in Central Maine (Kennebec County). I have looked around at the local tracks on line, and I am wondering which one people think is the best place to race (oval or drag). Also, wondering where all the street racing is going on. Oh yeah, any racing or car clubs up here?

Good luck with all of that. I have been on this forum/board for several years and almost never see anyone from Maine. An F-body club would be cool, but I think the closest one is in Mass.

Street racing? Yeah right! This IS Maine, remember.

Beech Ridge is nice as is Wiscasset for oval racing. They tend to be hard on cars though and generally degrades into a demolition derby.

You can drag your car at Oxford Plains. VIP's Show, Shine & Drag in June/July is a good opportunity for head's up racing.

Sounds good ship, I have heard good things about the Oxford track, I'll have to check it out. By the way, I hope that things get better for you guys up at the shipyards. I know it has been tough as of late, keep up the hard work there and pray for the best. That's all you can do.
