Trade, or no?
Trade, or no?
My buddy wants my GTA really bad, i want an older TA(82/83 for emissions reasons), he has an 82 firebird V6 with a 350 on the side, needs a rebuild has 4 bolt mains, all that. needs a trans, he said he'll give me the car, and $1800 for my GTA. It has hoosier quick time pros, and it's been primed. i'm looking for something i can build up reasonably well, it runs, but needs to be re-ringed. How hard is a swap? I've been thinking about maybe getting a pair of summit, or hooker headers, holly intake manifold, and DP carb, with a holly/lunati cam shaft. as for a transmission, maybe a TCI street fighter TH 350 w/ torque converter. WHat do you guys suggest? I think it's a decent deal, because my car, was only $1,500 when I got it.

Nahhh, evans mills(Buddy of mine). My GTA is in upstate NY as well(watertown), and i'm trying to maybe to an open road car. what would you suggest? max budget is $2,000 for either car(other then that $1800) so that will give me $3,800 to play with

I'm a little partial towards the GTA. I would suggest keeping it. I know of someone selling a 82 Trans Am with a 4 speed in Long Island NY. I'll give you teh contact info if you're interested.

Yeah, me too. It's a great car. I really want to set it up for open road racing, and such. About the most i can put into it is $2,000 so i figured maybe new gears, an 8 point cage,Bilstein shocks, spohn tubular A-arms, LCA's, torque arm, and some new springs. Also maybe do a 'pocket' port on heads/intake.
