Third gen owner in MA
Hey everyone. I've owned 2 camaros so far in my life and I'm looking to make my third purchase. The other two camaros I purchased had terrible bodies and I feel like I got the short end of the stick. I wanted everyones opinion on a T/A I'm trying to purchase. It's an 87 Trans am hardtop with a 5.7 with a 700R4. I also noticed this car has a 10 bolt drum brake rear end, don't most of the 87 trans ams come with the borg warner 9 bolt australian rear end?
Pros:
Looks recently painted (nightmare in disguise?)
Underneath the car looks GREAT. Barely any rust, surface rust at MOST.
Engine sounds strong, no tapping etc.
Cons:
Roof has been sanded down, painted in primer.
Windshield has crack
Looks like it has an exhaust leak. (smoke out the side, not the back)
AC Compressor taken out, along with AC lines.
Some of the digital dash doesn't work at all.
Owner wants $2600. I'd like to get it lower due to the cons I've found. What are your opinions?!

Is the roof smooth-- IE -- no ripples?
Check for frame damage, unless you are sure the windshield damage was NOT due to a crash. Does sound like a good find other than that.
