Camaro vs. Firebird At E-town Sat march 23rd

hey guys,
just wondered if we are gonna see a good thirdgen count at the camaro vs firebird next weekend. gates are 9am (be there early, there is always a line) time trials to start at 10am. i think eliminations are slated to start at 1pm. weather is predicted to be cool and mostly sunny for now. shoudl be good power weather and hopefully a good surface, at least until the radials start tearing up the rubber
if you show up write your handle on your rear glass so we can all recognize each other in the lanes.

later

Wow... I might just go, but if I do I'm gunna watch... I gotta work later that day !!!

I'll see if I can get some friends to go... A red TA, white RS, black SC, and maybe a black RS and a white TA (all live within a 1/4 mile of my house... all good friends of mine, ain't it a great community )

Anyway, if you see me there, say "Hi!" I'll do the same.

well,

The rear is plain SH*T, I spin one tire like its going out of style.

That is the next order of business. My friend has 3.55 ring and pinion gears he calls it, but I guess he said I need a carrier? In either event within a month or two, it will be installed and maybe I might get the racing bug then.

I also am scared of breaking, its my only car, and I am not so mechanically inclined.

If the car isn't in the shop, I will definately head down. If it is, anyone in Jersey want to give a guy a ride?

I'm not going to race because I won't be there all day. I need to be at work at 1... I won't call out because I already called out 3 days this weekend... Thursday Friday and Saturday... our busiest nights and I can't afford to lose my job... I still have 2 tranny's and a V8 to buy

its because

they rather race on the street, that track thing is dangerous.
On the street you have soft things to hit, like people and such

and you are..

all knowing eh?

I dont race on the street either. I have nothing to prove to anyone, especially something as asinine as street racing which can lead to tickets or even worse accidents and injury.

Next time, before you assume why people choose to race or not, ask. Youll save yourself the embarassment.

It's official, I'll be there this weekend bright and early!!!

I'm going to be tired as hell seeing as how I have to close the store the night before, but I'm going to get up bright and early to come watch you guys...

Is it a big event? Or can I just go and run a time trial??? I might run one if I don't have to compete.

Well I just saw on their website that this thing starts at 11, not 9 like I thought. I'm not too sure I'm going to be there now seeing as how I'll be there for about an hour and then leave...

If I do go, hopefully I'll be in my 1985 SC (the car in my sig with z28 rims)... If it's t-shirt weather I'll be wearing my "1969 Street Legal" white t-shirt... otherwise I'll be in a blue "...Lost" sweatshirt.

I may or may not be there. If I am, I'll see you guys.

...

No swap meet, Its the Camaro vs. Firebird Shootout, and only street muffled vehicles allowed.

Id imagine its the usual $7 to watch, $20 to race.

So who made it to E-town Today

It was cold n windy but none the less it was fun. Some good cars there. Seems a case of broken axles was running a muck. I even got to run my 86. Only ran it once and it was a 16.7 @87 mph. Not bad for a motor that has never been opened, 200k on the trans and a peg legged 2.73 rear end. That and it almost dies off the line. Cant wait to get the 91 ready for the next time.
