SCAM Alert
Just wanted to let everyone know there is a craigslist scammer "selling" Thirdgens right now. I am looking for another thirdgen right now so i replied to 2 different cars and received the same email minus the name change. It really pisses me off because he is posing as a military member and as one myself, it is personally insulting. Here is one of his emails. I sent one backAsking for his name rank and unit, and he replied with a name and rank but when I asked him again for his unit and for him to email me from his .mil email addy he stopped responding.

The car (1984 Chevrolet Camaro Z28) is in absolutely perfect condition, no scratches,dings, dents or other imperfections. Never accidented, Always garaged. Clear title, no liens or leans. I will accept $3,600 if you buy it now. It has only 79,721 miles and Transmission Automatic.
Firstly, I need to tell you that i am located in Helena, MT. I sell the car urgently because my platoon has been sent back to Iraq and don't want it to get old in my garage.I will take care of all transport arrangements.Usually shipment takes maximum 2 to 3 days depending on your location and will be fully insured against damages, shipped in a crated container.....on my cost!!I am a member of the e-Bay buyer protection program and using this service you will get a 15 days testing period after delivery. During that 15 days testing period I will not be getting any money.If you agree with my above terms, I'm sure that we can close the deal as soon as possible.I have reserved the car for you until I will have your final answer.

Just by reading his e-mail, you know it's freaking bogus. To point a few, maximum 2-3 days shipping- what if you live in Florida? Crated in a container-a CAR????? 15 day testing period---it's a USED CAR.... shipping at his cost????? Shipping a car across USA in an enclosed trailer could go up to $1600. For a $3600 car. I know you have a good intention but c'mon.

Yeah I knew it was a scam, you knew it was and at first I thought everyone would but I talked to a friend of mine and had never heard of this common type of scam so I figured I would give a heads up. Better safe than sorry I guess. I always screw with people like this that do these type of scams by acting interested and asking them to produce things I know they can't. Like a unit since there is no Marine (he said platoon) base in Montana. I guess I try to waste some of there time since they are wasting mine.
