Re: hello.
just give up hope dude. your 88 camaro is going to die and blowup. just sell it to me and save yourself the headache. just kidding. have you checked the camaro tech section? https://www.thirdgen.org/tech-data start there. and most of the stuff one person thinks is best isnt best to another. its what YOU want.

Re: hello.
A quick search and you can find everything you need.
just off the top of my head
hp/tq - 190hp 290tq
transmission - 700r4
rear gear - 2.73 or 3.23 should have posi
headers - edelbrock/hedman/hooker all make CARB legal headers
radiator - summit/jegs beCool($$$$) all make aluminum radiators
shifter - auto/b&m make a megashifter for thirdgen
shift kit - transgo/tci/b&m all make shift kits

yea i wasnt sure my brother n law owns a tranny shop so when i order parts i send to his shop that way its cheaper... he gets basically whole sale prices and stuff..
My buddy owns a 90 or 91 cant remember off top my head gta firebird he's done alot work to it and has the b&m rachet shifter and i really like how it is... in my stangs i have the short throw shifter this my first v8 automatic car... so its bit different im use v8 stick shifts... and i have ten to reach for clutch pedal thats invisble !
This car has Borla exhuast and a Peformance chip.. and k&n filter's but otherwise thats all thats done to it so far. rebuilt motor and tranny... has small header leak and thats why i just want go with different headers...

Re: hello.
Welcome.
(1).Griffin also makes good radiators (just as spendy as Be Cool)
(2).Hurst also makes a dual gate shifter that is pretty slick, but $100 more than the B&M unit. I love my Megashifters (B&M).
(3). Best thing to remember about posi; "should be" is not always "is". Best way to check is to pop the cover, you should probably change the oil anyway.
(4). Many other companies make smog legal headers, but the ones listed above are the easiest to find, and I hear the Edelbrocks are really nice.
(5). 2.73's and 3:23's are most common, and for a good track and street gear upgrade I would go 3:73. My opinion though, 4:11's would be sic.
(6). I have always found Summit Racing to be one of the best sources for my performance parts, and it is always my first stop.
Again welcome to the site! There really is a ton of good information and helpful people here. Searching will become one of your best tools for this site. I have done a lot of digging and learned a lot from it. Good luck with your project!
