Local manifold porting?

Is there a very good porter around here? I'd be looking for before after flow bench data too.

Thanks in advance.

What exactly are you trying to get ported?

Re: Local manifold porting?

This:

It is sand cast and could use some cleaning up and smoothing out of the runners and my heads are 1205s and right inbetween 1204-1205 and I'd like to gasket match them up to 1205s. The runners are tapered so only a small portion of the runner is smaller than a 1205 once that is opened up.

Re: Local manifold porting?

If you are near me, bring it to the shop and bring the 1205 gasket. I have a 1206 gasket for comparison. I might have a 1205 as well. I wanna know exactly what you want to get done.

Re: Local manifold porting?

Its on the car now, otherwise I would.

It is just a stock sand-cast manifold so the inside is rough and there are small (very small) bits of casting slag in the runners. So I was thinking just porting at the base to a 1205 and then trying to clean up and port up into the runners so that the smallest point in the runner is at the mounting surface.

Just trying to get a feel for what it would cost for someone to do job like this and find out if there are people locally who do it. I'd say Elk Grove is pretty local. Thanks.
