Friday and Saturday were the finals for the Bandimere ET series races. I was registered in Street ET (Fridays) and Run Tuff (Saturdays). I missed two of the Run Tuff races, so wasn't too far up in the standings in that one. But, in Street ET, I made them all and went into the weekend in 4th place (one point ahead of #5, who happens to be a co-worker). They are taking 6 in Run Tuff and 3 in Street to Topeka to represent Bandimere in the regional finals.

Wouldn't you know it, I went out in the first round of Street. But, RT went a little better, and I finally lost there in the semi-finals. The #5 guy in Street did the same thing - went out in the semis.

As I was packing up, well, actually getting my Castrol receipt back, they called my name over the PA. Seems I hung on to 5th place, and two of guys ahead of me aren't going. So, I backed my way into a trip to the Summit Racing Series Finals at Heartland Park.

I haven't made a season series trip representing a track since 1978. I qualified in 1984 from Scribner, but being a poor college student at the time, wasn't able to go.

I'm stoked, to say the least. I'll be bringing the '57, but I'll be there!

(For the record, I ran the Camaro in the first and last race of the Street ET series this year - lost first round both time. I'm not blaming the Camaro, certainly not for the last race [ran what I first dialed, but not what I changed it to in the staging lane], but until I get the transmission fixed so it will shift from 2nd to 3rd at WOT, I don't think I'll be doing that again.)
