hello guys I'm in need of some help here. I'm trying to get my car together. I have had it for about 6 months and I have only fixed the cooling situation that it had (running hot) and the steering wheel was making noise when it turned, so that is fixed I also instaled new belts on most of the system. But now I need to install an air pump and have no idea how it goes on and I was wondering if any of you guys could help me out on this by sending me a photo or a routing symbol or anything if you could help I would really appreciate it thanks.

there is usually a belt routing picture underneath your hood either on the radiator support or underneath your hood......
I'm sorry maybe I didn't clearify the problem. here we go the problem is that I don't know where the hoses for the air pump go like from the air pump to the heater valve and all the other hoses that is where I need help with if you can help that would be great thanks.

Oh boy, so I guess you have visual inspection as part of your emissions testing?
If not, then I wouldn't even worry about the A.I.R. system. Just make sure you have a functional EGR.
I also think that your AIR system is a bit different then mine, being that it is for a pre-87 with v-belt setup. I seem to remember my 83 V8 carbed, being different than my 89 TBI.
I'm looking to see if I have an illustration of the hose routing, but haven't found it yet. I'll post it when/if I find it.

I have a TPI car, so I'm not sure if it us the same style setup.
But I'll search through my pictures and post some if I have good ones.

Nah ours should be different bill.
If you need emissions though...definitely hook up an AIR system. It actually made a big difference on my car from the one time I went with it hooked up (was VERY close to passing) to the next time it was unhooked (failed VERY miserably)... now I have to mess with it a bit over winter break to pass emissions finally.

well the thing that with my car is that when I bought it, it had an air pump but it wasn't working so I took it out. I bought a used one cause autozone was having a bunch of bad ones. A friend of mine dakleenupman told me that my emissions system is bypassed some how and he also told about this site and I've only posted little things I think this is the biggest thing and I started from there and they're some pretty interesting things here going on hope to some day know more about these cars like alot of you guys well if you guys find any more or know of any more things that would help me please let me know thanks so far for looking into this.
