dyno tuning

Are there any shops around that can tune a 730 ecm? I've been reading the DIY prom board for a while now trying to learn as much as I can so I can tune this engine when its done, but I just dont think I wanna go through all the hassle. Is there a shop around with a dyno that could do a dyno tune and burn a chip for me? Don't mind driving far or towning the car if need be, just wanna make sure the tune is done right the first time, and I know I cant do it.

Re: dyno tuning

I was looking when I was trying to race with a '730 and I never found one. That was my primary reason to switch to carb.

Re: dyno tuning

I don't know of a single shop that would still tune these. All the money is in tuning ls based computers now, and this is a 20+ year old technology. You can try calling ASSC or FLP and see if they know anyone. Only person I even know that tunes them is jeremy but last I heard he wasn't floating around dynos to tune them for people, maybe offer him some coin, I have no idea.

Re: dyno tuning

Try Ian of Madz28.com. He was willing to tune my car when I had it.

Not sure of prices now, but it was about $300 then for some dyno time and mostly street tuning.

Re: dyno tuning

Call up Straightline in New Lenox and talk to their tuner Mike. I talked on the phone with him a couple years ago and he said he was willing to learn the software and tune my car with a 730 ECM. I had a Moates Ostrich though for RTT to make it easier for him. Wouldn't hurt to call and ask, but I imagine you'll have to provide him with the equipment.

Re: dyno tuning

yea I have the same issue, brand new 383 with HSR and can't run it because the tune is soooooo far off. I haven't found any local shops that can tune it. found a few with nice dynos, but all require you to bring a tuner. this is no fun

Jeremy, if you want to make a couple hundred bucks near the end of the summer to tune my car. I should be ready by then; just need to finish my house right now.

Make sure your exhaust is 100% leak free and get a bung in it we can use for the wideband
