1/4 time est please...

Well I just put a deposit down on a car yesterday and will be picking it up in a few days but wont be able to get out to a track for a while so I was wondering if anyone had an estimate as to what this car would run in the 1/4??

The guy put about $20.000 into the car (89 Formula) strictly for autocross (won 3 natonal titles, and 4 district/division titles). Everything from the intake/exhaust to the suspension has been perfected. He had it dyno'ed and it ran only around 250 RWHP, but over 380 lb ft at the rear wheels at only 3000 RPM. The thing sits on 16x10 autocross tires w/ a 3.73 POSI. The guy never took it to the track (seeing as he only autocrossed it) but figures it'd run between 100-110 mph in the 1/4 (and after the test drive I believe him). Amazing thing is that due to SCCA rules the motor is running on stock internals with just a .030 overbore!

Depending on traction I'd guess mid 14's and high 90's. The only way you'll know for sure is to take it to the track.

A car set up for autocrossing isn't the same as drag racing. You don't see an indy car at the drag strip or a funny car road racing.

yeah i know that the car is built completely opposite for drag racing, but figured w/ that much torque it's acceleration would make up for it's lack of top-end..

anyways, i'll try to get it to the track as soon as i get a free weekend and see what the thing can do.

sounds good... i'm interested in seeing what this thing can pull on a 1/4 mile, and it'd also be interesting to see my driving skills too (would be my first time at a strip) RCR on the board (moderator) lives about a mile away from me and im sure we could find some other members that'd go too.

....and i apologize to the moderators for not keeping this tech related...
