Trying to get in the 12's
Trying to get in the 12's
My best time was 13.347 at 102.47 mph with 60' time 2.175 with a little wheel hop. I added sfc's lca's and adjustible torque arm and also added a cutout in front of where the converter used to be. Now I ran a 13.179 at 108.61 mph with 60' time 2.147 with major wheel spin. I wonder if I can adjust on the torque arm to help my traction problem or if I am going to have to go with slicks. Has anyone else had experience with an adjutible torque arm. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

You are already there, you just need to practice your launch on street tires. On a well prepped track, I've cut a 1.84 sixty foot time on street tires with a stock suspension. You will have to feather the throttle on the launch.

At 108+ mph you have more than enough horsepower to run 12's.
You need to get some tires with some bite.
All the traction aids in the world won't work unless you have initial bite. They all work on torque reaction.
Mickey Thompson #3752 26.0 x10.5x 15 Et Streets
Install them on the rims dry and run 15psi air pressure
and you won't need tubes or rim screws.
A big burnout is not required, should last you a long time.
Then you'll be easily in the 12's. and sub 2.0 60 foot times.

I tried practicing. Sometimes I would end up red lighting or I would end up way late. I thought about getting those tires but I was going to go with the 8.5's but I am running a little short of cash. I am still running 3.23 gears when I do get it hooking up I would like to go with 3.73's. I have got to do something tho cause a buddy beat me with a mustang. He ran a 13.16 running slicks but he blew his transmission trying to get there. Another buddy ran a 13.10 in an older transam and he was running slicks. I need to give them something to reach for.
