The most common calculation is to take your 1/8 mile ET and multiply it by 1.56. It won't be 100% exact since there are so many variables between every car but it will give you a close enough conversion to get an idea what it should run in the 1/4.

There are other calculations also.

You make a pass but after the 1000 foot mark you lift or brake to keep from breaking out. What would you have run if you were under full power right to the 1/4 mile?

Take your 1000 foot time and multiply it by 1.19. Again it won't be 100% accurate but close enough. The actual proper way to do it is to take a precious good run and divide your 1/4 mile time by your 1000 foot time. 11.603/9.67 = 1.19989. For that pass 1.2 would be the better conversion number.
