29" tire?
29" tire?
Wondering if anybody runs one? My 28" is pretty close and I don't want to have it look ******* with the tires sticking out or a really raked stance. Wheelwells were meant to be hammered out so that isn't a problem
There a guy with a set for sale and I'm running 4.10 gears with no overdrive and I want a taller tire for cruising around town if I can get away with it.

MT does not make a true (29") tire. If you look at their tire specs the true height jumps from 28 to 29.9 depending on the specific tire. The MT 28x9 is actually 27.3" tall.
I needed a 29" tire and went with Hoosier. Their 29x9 and 29x10 slicks are 29.1" tall. I've also found that the tire grows about 1" in diameter when I had to trim my rear fenders last race because of some tire smoke
Some work with a hacksaw fixed the fender problems.
I believe GoodYear also makes a true 29" tall tire.

If you roll the inner lip (which is legal in stock eliminator but not cutting the lip off) you can use a 30" tall tire. Most of the stock eliminator racers use these tall tires along with gears as steep as 5.13s. By using the radial slick you won't see tire growth on the top end but you will need to change some suspension settings as the sidewalls are much stiffer and act like a spring when you launch.
