Your shirt has to have sleeves too, even if they're short. No tank tops. You also have to wear shoes. No sandles.

The helmet rule varys from track to track. Although NHRA says it's manditory at 13.99 most tracks because of insurance reasons want you to wear a helmet at all speeds. Check with your local track. If you do need a helmet then you're going to need a minimum Snell90. An open face motorcycle helmet with a Snell 90, 95 or 2000 rating will do.
