Instant Center...
Hey guys.....due to the fact that i have SSM lift bars, and they are pretty much fixed in location, im thinking about fabricating an LCA relocation bracket for the FRONT lca mounts. This would allow me to maintain an IC in front of the axle with much more adjustabliity.
in the SSM setup, the LCA's actually become the top bars of the pseudo-4 link setup. SO you dont want to move the back mount down. that would move the IC behind the wheels.
Im just wondering if anyone knows where the theoretically perfect IC for a third gen camaro is?
that would helpful in figuring out where to put the holes and such

From what I understand, the best place for IC would be from the front wheels back, the further back, the better it is. Since thirdgens only have 2 control arms, compared to a G body (which has 4), it may be harder to locate an instant center becuse there are only 2 front-rear links (panhard & tq arm don't restrict front to rear motion of the axle.
Hope this helps

hmm maybe this will shed some light on things.....
The yellow arrows show the lift bars, the lift bar crossmember, and that where they are welded to the axle tubes, and where they bolt to the crossmember....the red arrows show the rear mount of the LCA's....

That pic is a little dark to see clearly.
Could you lighten it up (increase contrast) and I'll look and think about it...
