allright, since i am almost done(suspension left) with my car i have to ask, Can i beat an ls1??? i have yet to line up with one and i am pretty sure with the 373's and my 330 horse crate i should be able too. i am just curious before i go picking a race.

 

you should be able to take an ls1... they have 320 hp stock and they are heavier than a third gen so you should win.. but with some mods the ls1 will take you...and you might want to find an automatic ls1 to race if you mind losing... by the way where in jacksonville are you your car looks clean... wouldn't mind seeing it in person one day

well although i think it owuld be a great race id still put $$$ on the ls1...the were "rated" at 320 but there are guys that are puttin 305-315 to t he ground..thats 350-360 crank....i think it will be close 1st and 2nd and maybe a little of third..but hell pull on you

i agree with you all to a point. i know there are a lot of stock ls1's out there right now. they are very fast cars don't get me wrong i have drove a couple. i still think i have an edge. my friend has a 01 ss and she says that my car will probably take hers! she has headers too. so there you go straight from an ls1 owner. i guess we will never know till we line up right??

now that i think about it who cares??? i don't drag? i guess it's just the feeling of being able to hand an ls1 there booty. it's all for fun though. at least they will probably turn into a gas station and talk to you. i would want to know why and older z beat me. i know there not ls1's but i can walk all over lt1's. have a couple around town that have some"mods" that i don't know about that i handed them theirs.

I'm putting my money on a decently driven stock LS1 in that race. I don't think the stock 330hp Vortec crate motor will put down the 300ish rwhp that stock LS1s do. Some of the later models that could actually optioned with a decent cat-back and air lid are putting down up near 320 rwhp regularly. That is amazing power for a stock car, especially one rated at only 305-320 hp at the crank like they are.... Silly GM, playing with the numbers again to boost Vette owners' egos... Check out LS1.com, crazy some of the numbers these things are putting down bone stock.

Chuck in a hotter cam, and maybe a RPM intake if you're running that low rise GM intake and you may just take the lead... I've pulled on a couple LS1s with my Vortec motor but they weren't "structured" races, just chance encounters. Could have been poor drivers or the like.... I have a XE262 cam and the RPM intake on mine, but with 3.42 gears. The stock cam in the HO is pretty weak, you should change it.

 

Chefdan, nice car!!!!! I would put my money on your ride because it's a 3rd Gen and its a bit lighter than the 4th Gens, if you get a race around here I would like to check it out, as my car is painfully slow at this point, I am off Losco so not too far from ya..

Sounds good, there is a couple spots around that you could probably get a good race during the week if you wanted with LS1 and LT1 cars but I would definately dig the opportunity to ride in something that is quick!!!

Sonic i pretty cool, there are some pretty quick cars there on occasion. I have been there 1 time with my T/A but it's no fun to get stomped by the mustang guys when the tired ole 700R4 stays in 1st till 7K!!!!!!!! It would be great to meet some other F-body guys around here too...... Maybe I can get some help sealing up the leaks in my dreadedT-Tops......

regency sonic is the spot on tuesday nights has been the spot, other than that i know there is alot of action in orange park, but also have heard it is ****-haven out there. we need to get some 3rd gen people together, as of now i am the only one out there that i know of, so the 4th gens pretty much rule the place..... check out jaxracing.com also, lots of cool local people there.

 

ya i have been to the regency one once. it's been a while though. we need to get some thirdgenners around those parts.

 

Tuesdays are the night for sonic normally, I dont know how good it will be with all the rain that is supposed to be here, lemme know if you want to show up as it normally starts getting good by 9:00 or so, if nothing else I would be able to get a ride in a fast car......

Sorry for the delay, have been having issues with the computer and stuff, not much fun at all!!!!! Anyway, Fruitcove would be cool, we need to set up a day when we can get some people there, jsut as long as they don't laugh too hard at my slow ride..... Lemme know when is good and we will go from there!!!
