Buy street tires for the street and drag slicks for the track.
The only reason they make a DOT slick is for racing classes that require a DOT tire. They were never intended to be run on the street.

I know of more than a couple people in street cars running 1.6s with Drag Radials...I wouldn't give up on em...and from what I hear Nittos are much more forgiving in the rain then BFGS.
i am definitly not going to use these as street tires. on wednesdays and fridays up here its street night and ur only allowed to run drag radials, radials or dot street slicks. my question is what is better the DR or the DOT.
ET streets. If you are going to change tires at the track, why would you put drag radials on? I could never hook up with them, so I sold them for some et streets, never had a problem spinning the tires since.
I use the 26 X 11.5 -16 on my stock wheels, but you could use the 10.5's also. A friend just ran an 11.8 in his IROC with the 26 X 8.5 - 15 et streets.
well since im not pushing a wicked lot of power i thought i might be able to get away with just some DRs.

Not the Camaro, but still drag racing.
I have ET Drags 8.5x26x14's for non-DOT required classes (picked them up dirt cheap last summer), and bought some 275/50x15 DR's this spring for DOT-required classes. Not a lot of runs on the DR's yet, but my 60' times are about equal with the two types.
I will say that the DR's are a lot heavier than the ET Drags, but I don't know if that translates to the ET Streets as well.
FWIW, I know a lot of race-only cars that run ET Streets, even in DOT-not-required classes; and a lot of driven-to-the-track cars that run DR's (installed at the track - not driven there with the DR's). Both crowds seem quite happy with their choices.
FWIW #2: The DR's are a lot easier to drive at the top end of the track. Might have something to do with having radials on the front, but that's what I've noticed.

i agree. just buy some M/T slicks for the track. dont even bother with DR's if u arent using them on the street.
