perfect run mid to high 14, first time out low 15s. mine did a 15.1 stock at 93.25mph, that was my first time racing. i got really ****ty 60ft, 2.5. mid 14 second car with the right launch. potent little suckers when u have the 5 speed.

dont kid yourself. a 5 speed 5.0 will beat a 305 thirdgen stock for stock. go mod for mod, and it gets beat worse. your car could probably handle an automatic 5.0 though.

and actually mod for mod my 89 has been faster car then my friends 88 GT. i do agree the 5L mustang has a lot more performance then 305 engine does. but stock for stock performance is the same. my dad owned a 5.0 5spd gt when i bought my 89.

uhhh i have a g92 lb9...and i can tell you first hand that they will they will run with 5l 5 speed stangs..stock for stock...sorry you heard otherwise..the g92 305 cars will run with the stang all they way to 120 mph...after that the stang will slighly pull away because of the 305's taller 5th gear...

if its a non g92 car (3.08 gears) then a hi 14 is gonna be about as fast as itll go...

if its a g92 car (3.42 gears) then a mid 14 is easily attainable
mine ran a 14.1 with a flowmaster, k&n, minor plenum porting and me driving the **** out of it...

i dont think my carbed 305 is 2 seconds slower than your tpi. and besides, the facts you need to get straight are that a 305 tpi will not hang with a 5-speed 5.0 mod for mod.

lol its apparent ur not taking the time to read the responses in this thread, it was already stated the the 5.0L TPI 5spd fbod vs the 5.0L SFI 5SPD stang is the same performance. but the 302s have more potential, this is the 2nd time ive siad this. also like i said STOCK fo STOCK the 305TPI 5spd is a about 2 seconds faster then a stock LG4 5spd. since this guy wanted a comparo of his stock 88 305TPI 5spd vs a stock 5L 5spd mustang that is what he got. there was no questions asked about mods or Lg4s. state ur opinion about it not being able to keep up thats fine. but u are wrong and thats MY opinion.

If it has G92, high 14's-low 15's. If not, low 15's-mid 15's. And yes some 5.0 5-Speed M*stangs run the same times as 305's.

I had an LG4 5 speed in my 86 Trans Am. First time ever at the track with a new Edelbrock carb and I ran a best of 14.94 @ 91.67mph with a 2.1 60' time.
People say that was an awesome time for that LG4 305.

Yes it was, and it was slow. Carb seemed to add 50hp.

Those 305s must have lots of torque to get high 14 second times with only a 91-93mph trap speed. My best is 14.7@96mph with a 2.3 60ft time but I've had 14.9s@95 with 2.24 60ft times in hot, humid weather.
