If you have an automatic......Load the converter by holding the brake and bringing your rpms up to the point of tire break (probably about 2000 rpm)....When the light turns....MASH IT!!! Probably get your time down a little. If standard....hold clutch in and rev to 2000 rpms...light turns roll into the throttle.

When I raced, I revved up to about 1700, 2000 my car was on the verge of breaking loose. Also, to beat some others, hit the gas when the third yellow is at its brightest. If you redlight, who cares. Work on it till next time and you will start to win some races.

Hmmm. A 2.5x 60' time and only a 17 second 1/4 mile? Something is definetly wrong. Very low torque from the engine or a lot of wheel spin. What were you doing at the 1/8 mile mark?

The mph isn't really that far off. 80 mph I'm guessing should be somewhere in the mid 16's.

80 mph also tells me that you don't have a lot of hp getting to the rear wheels. Guessing at a 3500 pound race weight, that's only around 160 hp.
